The Royal Berkshire Shooting School hosted their second BBQ Shoot at Pangbourne, Berkshire on Tuesday 24 July. The Moons Marauders won the team event with a score of 272. The Top Gun was awarded to James Peters, from the winning team who scored 64. Nicola Shackleton was crowned Top Lady with a score of 39. The next BBQ Shoot is Tuesday 26 August.

The Royal Berkshire Shooting School has appointed Simon Russell-Marsh to help further expand its offering to game shooters in the UK. After serving in Northern Ireland and Iraq, Simon spent many years working for Roxtons Field Sports before co-founding Exmoor Sporting. Simon has also run the clay line at The CLA Game Fair for the past eight years and is an APSI-qualified instructor. Simon’s full-time role will see him a working alongside Gordon Robinson and Tizi McPherson across the group co-ordinating game shooting in the UK and Spain via the Royal Berkshire Sporting Agency, simulated game days via The Really Wild Clay Company and teaching at the award-winning school in Pangbourne alongside the other seven full-time instructors.

Enterprise Shoot Challenge in aid of the Peter Jones Foundation

On Wednesday 2 July, Royal Berkshire Shooting School hosted the 9th annual Enterprise Shoot Challenge in aid of the Peter Jones Foundation. There was a number of celebrities participating, including Peter Jones, Deborah Meaden and Theo Paphitis from BBC Two Dragons’ Den and British former Formula One racing driver David Coulthard. Almost 150 guests took part in the charity shoot at the award winning shooting ground in Pangbourne. After the shoot participants enjoyed a champagne lunch followed by an auction and prize giving. Over £168,000 was raised for the Peter Jones Foundation, which aims to educate, encourage and support young people across the UK who are at various stages of their lives or in many different circumstances and in a variety of ways.
