Kick off your season with cloud-clipping Wiltshire red-legs
Prescombe Estate’s steep-sided chalk valleys offer Guns the ideal setting for challenging partridge shooting this season. This October, the Royal Berkshire Sporting Agency is hosting a 250-bird roving day at the stunning 3,000-acre estate near Salisbury.
The day consists of five high-octane drives, shooting extremely high red-leg partridge from cover crop over valleys. Overseen by Headkeeper Simon Hawker, the diminutive game birds are corralled over the Guns on some of the estate’s most renowned drives including Monty’s and Hamilton’s.
The three-course lunch is taken in the purpose built shoot lodge before heading for the last drives of the day. “This estate was made for partridge shooting,” commented Gordon Robinson from the Royal Berkshire Sporting Agency, adding: “We have been bringing clients to this estate for almost 20 years, which speaks volumes about the quality of sport on offer.”
